Barbara Grizzuti Harrison

Back in 2003 my boss suggested I read Italian Days by Barbara Grizzuti Harrison. It has been the best book I have ever read on Italy and I still miss it. I didn't know that she did another book two years later:The Islands of Italy: Sicily, Sardinia, and the Aeolian Islands and YAY! I am totally checking that one out. July of 2003 was all about climbing on the bus to read Italian Days and I couldn't wait. A lot has changed in three years but I still like to read about Italy.

Note: My two favorite female writers do not like each other: Harrison hates Didion! I love both though I will never read Didion's last book on her husband and daughter dying. To some extent, they both have a similar style, to some extent.
